Indialogs. Spanish journal of India studies
The new journal Indi@logs, Spanish Journal of India Studies is the first electronic journal in Spain that focuses exclusively on the Indian Subcontinent. The journal covers a wide variety of disciplines, ranging from literature, culture and film to politics, history and environmental studies. Indialogs is an academic journal but one of its goals is to reach out to the general public and encourage a deeper understanding of the richness and diversity of India, its people and its extraordinary history. This is why we have opted for an open access journal. Our objectives are to promote research on India from a multidisciplinary perspective and strengthen cultural and scientific ties with the subcontinent. Indialogs is a forum where a network of scholars within Spain and abroad with common interests can publish their research and circulate their work. The journal is a joint initiative of the Department de Filologia Anglesa i Germanística of the UAB and the Spanish Association of India Studies.

The Calcutta Chromosome takes readers on a convoluted journey through time and space. At once a work of science fiction, a medical mystery, and a history of malaria research, this hybrid novel sets into rivalry India's old-time wisdom and spirituality against Western science and English colonial presumptuousness, thus advocating transmodernity and the pluriversality put forward by critics such as Rosa María Rodriguez Magda, Enrique Dussel and Walter Mignolo, among others. A written document is no longer treated as a piece of literature; rather, readers' needs have surpassed the limits of traditional expectations, beyond the purview of common scrutiny. A piece of writing has become a stale reminder of the time spent; the recurrent images of everyday life and living, the bread and butter of the populace, their anguish and pain, the contours of traditional moorings, nuances and nemesis, rituals and rebuttals clubbed together have become the choice of the present time.
