Requena Jiménez, Miguel (Universitat de València)

Date: 2006
Abstract: The analysis of the supposed nightmares suffered by Nero after the murder of Agripina, narrated by such diverse author s as Suetonius, Dion Casius and maybe Seneca, shall allow us to approach the perception held by important sections of Roman society about that emperor's power. We shall see how, through beliefs about death popular cultur e manages to brilliantly express the link between Nero's imperial power and his mother, Agripina.
