Molière : un modèle pour le théâtre catalan (1900-1939)

Abstract:	Molière est un dramaturge des plus traduits en catalan, surtout pendant le premier tiers du xxe siècle. Malgré les différentes intentions de ses traducteurs, beaucoup d'entre eux, avec l'appropriation d'un classique universel, ont partagé la volonté de rétablir une tradition théâtrale de haute qualité qu'on considérait interrompue et de créer un modèle de langue littéraire adapté à tous les registres et usages. En résumé, Molière est un parfait exemple de l'influence qu'un auteur étranger peut exercer sur l'évolution d'une littérature nationale.
Abstract:	Molière is one of the dramatists who has been most widely translated into Catalan, especially during the first third of the twentieth century. Despite the different purposes of his translators, many of them, with the appropriation of a universal classic, shared the will to re-establish a high quality theatre tradition that was considered to have been interrupted, as well as the wish to create a pattern for literary language suitable for all registers and usages. In short, Molière is a paradigmatic case of the influence that a foreign author can have on the development of a national literature.
