Abstract:	Al igual que sucediera con la carne, el aislamiento del bacilotuberculoso en las vacas hizo que se atribuyera a la leche un papel importantísimo en la infección tuberculosa de la especie humana, constituyendo una cuestión de consideración preferente. Pero la historia de la leche fue más trágica. En efecto, la leche era el principal alimento por medio del cual la tuberculosis de los bóvidos se transmitía al hombre y casi podríamos decir que el único vector que llevaba el bacilo bovino hasta el organismo humano. Es por todo ello que el objetivo de esta comunicación pretende valorar la trascendencia de la leche como forma de transmisión más común de la tuberculosis de origen bovino al hombre, remarcando el problema del abastecimiento de leche higiénica en España.
Abstract:	As was the case with meat, the detection of the tuberculosis bacterium in cattle resulted in the attribution of an important role to milk in human tuberculosis infection. However, the case of milk had a more serious impact with graver consequences. In effect, milk was the principal foodstuff by means of which tuberculosis was passed from cattle to humans - indeed it could be said that it was the only vector that carried the bovine bacterium to the human organism. In light of this information the presentation attempts to put forward the case that milk acted as the most common mean of transmission of bovine tuberculosis to humans, taking note of the problem of hygienic milk supply in Spain.
