Abstract: El objetivo del presente trabajo consistió en conocer los factores socioculturales que afectan al patrón ocupacional de 116 niños entre 8 y 11 años de edad y su relación con la salud mental infantil. Sus respectivas familias y profesores respondieron a la versión española del Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ). Los datos obtenidos muestran diferencias en las actividades según la edad y el nivel de estudios y estatus económico de los padres. La prevalencia de riesgo de trastornos es significativamente mayor en los niños que en las niñas, principalmente en los trastornos conductuales o de hiperactividad, aunque no se detectan diferencias importantes en la distribución de las actividades y su dedicación.
Abstract: The aim of this study was to investigate the sociocultural factors that affect children's occupational pattern to 116 children between the ages of 8 and 11 years old (50. 9% boys, 49. 1% girls) and their relation to child mental health. Their families and teachers participated in the study, responding the Spanish version of the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ). The data show differences in activities by age and educational level, as well as parental economic status. The prevalence of the risk of disorder is significantly higher in boys than in girls, particularly with behavioral disorders or hyperactivity, but no significant differences were detected in the distribution of activities and dedication to them.
