Accessible Culture and Training (ACT) : defining a new professional profile

Resumen:	This paper will present the rationale for the ACT project, an Erasmus-funded European project (2015-1-ES01-KA203-015734) under the Knowledge Alliances 2 scheme which aims to organise a training course, and define a professional profile for the "Accessibility Manager/Expert for the Scenic Arts". ACT involves partners from four universities (UAB, University of Antwerp, University of Vienna, Queen's University Belfast), two policy-makers (Catalan government, Flemish agency Enter), one certification agency, and two playhouses (Transit, NT), that will work together for three years (2015-2018) to achieve six main intellectual outputs: (a) define the needs for accessibility in the scenic arts; (b) establish the profile of the accessibility manager for the scenic arts; (c) propose a learning curriculum at university level; (d) develop, test and implement a MOOC to train these professionals, (e) research mechanisms to provide certification; (f) develop guidelines to implement policy strategies in the field of accessibility for the scenic arts, and (g) explore the development of a specific quality label. The presentation will focus on the main stages in the project, as well as providing preliminary results obtained in the first six months of the project.
