El paper capdavanter d'Alexandre de Riquer en la historia del cartelisme català és reconegut per tota la historiografia. Tanmateix, no disposem encara d'un catalogue raisonné de la seva producció cartellística. El nostre article aporta un conjunt de precisions que contribueixen a l'elaboració d'aquest catàleg, encara obert. Però, sobretot, insistim en la necessitat d'investigar més a fons les fonts internacionals del cartellisme riquerià. La connexió amb el prerafaelitisme tardà britànic ha estat ja indicada, però ara hem pogut identificar també alguns dels models concrets en què s'inspirà Riquer. Ens esforcem també, a provar la importància, fins ara subbestimada, que revesteix el cartellisme art nouveau nord-americà -randley, Ether Reed, M. Parrish, etc. - com a model inspi9rador del cartellisme riquerià, i confirmem la del cartellisme belga, especialment de Privat-Livermont. En canvi, cal corregir clarament l'èmfasi que bona part de la historiografia ha posat en Mucha. |

The pioner role of Alexandre de Riquer in the history of catalan pñoster is acknowledged by the historiography. Nevertheles we don't yet have a catalogue raisonné of his poster production. Our aims is to offer some precisory'in order to contribute to the elaboration of his desirable catalogue. Above all we point out the need of a more sistematic investigation about the international sources of the riqueriam language. The generic connection with the late british pre-raphaelitism has been underlined, but now we have been able to identify in this field some specific prototypes and sources wich have ispirated Riquer. We prove also the importance, often neglected, of the american Art Nouveau poster -Bradley, Ehtel Reed, M. Parrish, etc. - as a source of isnpiration for Riquer, and confirm tha of the belgian Art Nouveau poster, specially of Private-Livermont. Instead, we must reject the wrong emphasis witch historiography has put on Muchas's influece. |
