Polifemo en las Argonáuticas Órficas
Montes Cala, José Guillermo

Date: 1994
Abstract: According to the text edited by Vian in A0 169, Polyphemus was in his youth a distinguished hero in the fight between Lapiths and Centaurs, but now in the Argonautic expedition he is just old and irrelevant. The author of this article tries to demonstrate that Vian's conjecture is based on an erroneous collation of this passage with A. R. I 40 ff. and alternately proposes a correction of the textus receptus that is paleographically more respectful to the textual transmission and explains the appearance of this hero in the anonymous poem away.
