Abstract: Review of the book entitled Cultural-Historical Perspectives on Teacher Education and Development: Learning Teaching, 2010, Routledge: Taylor & Francis Group, London and New York (Edited by Viv Ellis, Anne Edwards, and Peter Smagorinsky). The review first discusses the importance that sociocultural perspective taken on by educationalists has had in the recent paradigms for investigating learning and the significance this has in the development and implementation of Cultural-Historical Activity Theory (CHAT). The review then moves on to discuss how the fourteen chapters of the book go about meeting the main aims of the book: 1. Demonstrate the contribution of sociocultural and cultural-historical activity theory (CHAT) towards an understanding of teacher learning; 2. Offer a strong exemplification of a CHAT research focus in this domain; 3. Show what teachers learn, how they learn and where they learn, using specific research examples based in CHAT.
Abstract: Reseña del libro Cultural-Historical Perspectives on Teacher Education and Development: Learning Teaching, 2010, Routledge: Taylor & Francis Group, London and New York (Coordinado por Viv Ellis, Anne Edwards, and Peter Smagorinsky). Primero, la reseña explica la importancia que la perspectiva sociocultural ha tenido en recientes paradigmas para la investigación del aprendizaje y el significado que ha tenido esta perspectiva en el desarrollo y aplicación de la Teoría de Actividad Cultural-Histórica (CHAT). A continuación, la reseña se centra en como los catorce capítulos del libro cumplen de los objetivos principales del mismo: 1. Demostrar la contribución d de la Teoría de Actividad Cultural-Histórica (CHAT) a la investigación en la formación de profesorado; 2. Ofrecer una ejemplificación de investigación CHAT en este ámbito; 3. Mostrar lo que los profesores aprenden, como aprenden y donde aprenden, usando ejemplos específicos de investigación basados en el CHAT.

Primer, la ressenya explica la importància que la perspectiva sociocultural ha tingut en recents paradigmes per a la recerca de l'aprenentatge i el significat que ha tingut aquesta perspectiva en el desenvolupament i aplicació de la Teoria d'Activitat Cultural-Històrica (CHAT). A continuació, la ressenya se centra en com els catorze capítols del llibre compleixen els objectius principals del llibre: 1. Demostrar la contribució de la Teoria d'Activitat Cultural-Històrica (CHAT) a la investigació en la formació de professorat; 2. Oferir una exemplificació de recerca CHAT en aquest àmbit; 3. Mostrar el que els professors aprenen, com aprenen i on aprenen, usant exemples específics de recerca basats en el CHAT.
