El DVD interactivo que acompañan a los libros infantiles, a diferencia de los libros tradicionales presentados únicamente en soporte de papel, aportan unas características complementarias al libro tradicional que influyen muy positivamente tanto en la comprensión de la lectura como en la lectura expresiva. Por otra parte, sirven de apoyo para estimular y motivar a los alumnos de los primeros ciclos de Educación Primaria en la lectura de la imagen y alfabetización audiovisual. Tanto el aspecto simbólico de la lectura del libro como el representativo de la imagen se complementan en el DVD favoreciendo la comprensión lectora. En el proceso de aprendizaje de la lectura, el texto explica y la imagen permite reconocer y asociar lo explicado por el texto. Cuando el lector se enfrenta a un conjunto abstracto de ideas y conceptos, los soportes audiovisuales en DVD ofrecen un universo concreto de ideas y de realidades. La decodificación de los símbolos escritos exige complejos procesos de análisis y razonamiento que podemos apoyar con la lectura de la imagen. La lectura en DVD favorece la capacidad de pensamiento lógico, sistemático, secuencial y ramificado a la vez que la imagen potencia el pensamiento visual, intuitivo, global y emotivo The main goal of this work focuses on knowing whether there exis any differences in comprehension and assimilation between reading texts from child books written just in paper format, and reading texts from child books written in paper format with a DVD enclosed. The interactive DVD which is often attached to child books, in contrast to traditional books which use only paper format, provides certain features which are complementary to the traditional book, and which influence very positively both reading comprehension and expressive reading out. On the other hand, DVDs can be used to stimulate and motivate students of the first years of Primary Education in areas such as the reading of image, and the audiovisual alphabetization. The symbolic aspect of reading of a book and the representative aspect of the image complement each other in the DVD in order to help the reading comprehension. In the reading learning process, the text explains and the image allows to recognize and associate the information contained in the text. When the reader faces an abstract set of concepts and ideas, the audiovisual information contained in the DVD provides a concrete universe of ideas and realities. The process of decoding (interpreting) written symbols requires complex processes of analysis and reasoning which can be supported with the help of the reading of the image.
