72280 driver artpubuab oai:ddd.uab.cat:72280 articleid 19883366n3p1 spa Fernández Valbuena, Ana Isabel RESAD, Madrid La ópera italiana y el verismo: Pérdidas y hallazgos en la transposición del sistema Las parejas de opuestos realidad/ficción, sistema literario/sistema melodramático son los extremos sobre los que discurre este artículo, centrado sobre la ópera italiana de finales del XIX, y su deseo de expresar la realidad, tal como la formulaban las teorías del naturalismo. Los principios científicos que pretende aplicar al arte generan en el sistema teatral nuevas escuelas interpretativas que acerquen al espectador la anhelada “verdad escénica”, pero en un movimiento que busca llevar la verdad al arte, ¿es posible una traducción veraz a otro sistema formal? El sistema de la lírica parece alejado de todos estos principios: ¿cómo dar veracidad a un arte que por su tradición ha recurrido siempre a una forma de expresión, el canto, más cercana a lo ritual que a la mímesis aristotélica? Mediante ejemplos canónicos de la ópera italiana se intenta valorar los logros y las pérdidas en este proceso de traducción entre sistemas This article is about the opposite’s couples fiction/reality, literary system/ melodramatic system, having nineteenth century Italian Opera in its heart. Naturalism theories pointed on the willing of expressing reality, but, in such a movement, is it possible to translate faithfully art from one to another system? From drama to opera? Scientific principles are above naturalism theories, and they bring theatre into new challenges on acting, longing for the scenic truth. But opera system seems to be far away from these principles: how could we express the truth in a drama within lyrical tradition? That is singing?
