In two previous papers we have proposed a new method for proving the existence of "canard solutions" on one hand for three and four-dimensional singularly perturbed systems with only one fast variable and, on the other hand for four-dimensional singularly perturbed systems with two fast variables [J. 46 p, 1.1 MB Canards Existence in Memristor's Circuits / Ginoux, Jean-Marc (Université de Toulon(France). Laboratoire LSIS) ; Llibre, Jaume (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Departament de Matemàtiques)
The aim of this work is to propose an alternative method for determining the condition of existence of "canard solutions" for three and four-dimensional singularly perturbed systems with only one fast variable in the folded saddle case. [...]

In a previous paper we have proposed a new method for proving the existence of "canard solutions" for three and four-dimensional singularly perturbed systems with only one fast variable. The aim of this work is to extend this method to the case of four-dimensional singularly perturbed systems with two slow and two fast variables. [...]

We present some results on singularly perturbed piecewise linear systems, similar to those obtained by the Geometric Singular Perturbation Theory. Unlike the differentiable case, in the piecewise linear case we obtain the global expression of the slow manifold Sε. [...]

At first, the aim of this work is to extend Benoît's theorem for the generic existence of "canards" solutions in singularly perturbed dynamical systems of dimension three with one fast variable to those of dimension four. [...]

15 p, 728.8 KB The flow curvature method applied to canard explosion / Ginoux, Jean-Marc (Université du Sud(France). Laboratoire Protee) ; Llibre, Jaume (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Departament de Matemàtiques)
The aim of this work is to establish that the bifurcation parameter value leading to a canard explosion in dimension two obtained by the so-called Geometric Singular Perturbation Method can be found according to the Flow Curvature Method. [...]

16 p, 331.6 KB Canard cycles with three breaking mechanisms / Caubergh, Magdalena (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Departament de Matemàtiques) ; Roussarie, Robert (Université de Bourgogne)
This article deals with relaxation oscillations from a generic balanced canard cycle Γ subject to three breaking parameters of Hopf or jump type. We prove that in a rescaled layer of Γ there bifurcate at most five relaxation oscillations.

This paper argues that relaciones de sucesos -Spanish single event news pamphlets- formed part of a pan-European phenomenon that took in the press from its beginnings at the end of the 15th century, with Columbus's letter, first printed in Barcelona in 1493 and then in six different countries, constituting one of the most striking early instances.
