This paper reviews Louis Althusser's treatment of Marxist Darstellung, in the framework of the project to develop the concept of structural causality. Taking previous research by Etienne Balibar, Vittorio Morfino, George Hartley, Warren Montag and Aurelio Sainz Pezonaga, the paper reconstructs some of the problems underlying the series that articulates, in Althusserian writing, the Marxist categories of Darstellung, Verbindung and Gliederung with the metaphor of the authorless theatre.
