The co-integration of spin, superconducting, and topological systems is emerging as an exciting pathway for scalable and high-fidelity quantum information technology. High-mobility planar germanium is a front-runner semiconductor for building quantum processors with spin-qubits, but progress with hybrid superconductor-semiconductor devices is hindered by the difficulty in obtaining a superconducting hard gap, that is, a gap free of subgap states. 37 p, 1.6 MB The long-term relationship between CO2 emissions and economic activity in a small open economy : Uruguay 1882-2010 / Piaggio, Matías (Universidad de la República. Instituto de Economía) ; Padilla, Emilio (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Departament d'Economia Aplicada) ; Román, Carolina (Universidad de la República. Instituto de Economía)
The long-term relationship between carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from energy use and economic activity level is estimated for Uruguay between 1882 and 2010. We include CO2 emissions both in levels and in per capita terms, which allows to analyze if a decoupling exists both in absolute and in relative terms. [...]

In this paper, we test the optimal taxation theory based on the tax-smoothing rule for the Spanish case. The sample period covers from 1964 to 1995. The empirical approach considered is based on Ghosh (1995a) which leads to two main improvements in the estimation. [...]

In this paper we provide an empirical test of the long-run Fisher effect for the Spanish case, using quarterly data for the period 1962-1996. To this end, we make use of some new techniques on unit roots and cointegration, where the presence of possible structural changes in the trend of the series is explicitly considered. [...]

The long-run relationship between carbon dioxide emissions from energy use and economic activity level is estimated for Uruguay between 1882 and 2010. We apply cointegration techniques and estimate a Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) for testing whether these variables are endogenous over the long-rung while also considering the short-run dynamics. 29 p, 421.1 KB Real equilibrium exchange rates. A panel data approach for advanced and emerging economies / López Villavicencio, Antonia ; Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Departament d'Economia Aplicada
Based on an behavioral equilibrium exchange rate model, this paper examines the determinants of the real effective exchange rate and evaluates the degree of misalignment of a group of currencies since 1980. [...]
