13 p, 1.2 MB Integrability Properties of the Slepyan-Palmov Model Arising in the Slepyan-Palmov Medium / Usman, Muhammad (National University of Sciences and Technology. College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering) ; Hussain, Akhtar (Government College University. Abdus Salam School of Mathematical Sciences) ; Zaman, Fiazuddin (Government College University. Abdus Salam School of Mathematical Sciences) ; Ibeas, Asier (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Departament de Telecomunicació i Enginyeria de Sistemes) ; Almalki, Yahya (King Khalid University. Department of Mathematics)
This study investigates the Slepyan-Palmov (SP) model, which describes plane longitudinal waves propagating within a medium comprising a carrier medium and nonlinear oscillators. The primary objective is to analyze the integrability properties of this model. [...]

The simplicial LS-category of a finite abstract simplicial complex is a new invariant of the strong homotopy type, defined in purely combinatorial terms. We prove that it generalizes to arbitrary simplicial complexes the well known notion of arboricity of a graph, and that it allows to develop many notions and results of algebraic topology which are costumary in the classical theory of Lusternik-Schnirelmann category. We prove the existence of Sullivan minimal models of operad algebras for a quite wide family of operads in the category of complexes of vector spacesover a field of characteristic zero. Our construction is an adaptation of Sullivan's original step by step construction to the setting of operad algebras. [...]

We establish an algebraic version of the classical result that a G-map f between G-complexes which restricts to a homotopy equivalence fH on H-xed sets for all subgroups H of G is a G-ho-motopy equivalence. [...]

We investigate two homotopies that perturb Kojima's system for describing critical points of a nonlinear optimization problem in finite dimension. Each of them characterizes stationary points of a usual penalty and a new "barrier" function. [...]

This paper presents an implementation of a nonsmooth continuation method of which the idea was originally put forward by Alexander et al. We show how the method can be computationally implemented and present numerical results for variational inequality problems in up to 96 variables. [...]

Given a pointed topological space A, in 1995 E. Dror-Farjoun introduced the notion of A-homotopy, where A and its suspensions play the same role of the spheres in classical homotopy. Therefore the A-homotopy groups of a pointed space X are defined as the homotopy classes of maps from the suspensions of A to X. [...]
