La detección de líneas de carril es un recurso muy utilizado para la asistencia en la conducción, ya que ayuda tanto a conductores como a sistemas de conducción autónoma a mantener el vehículo dentro del carril. [...]
Lane detection is a resource used a lot for driving assistance, it helps drivers and autonomous systems to maintain the vehicle inside the lane. One of the methods and object of this paper, is the highway lane detection based in a vision system with a monocular camera. [...]

Visual autonomous systems capable of monitoring crowded areas and alerting the authorities in occurrence of a suspicious action can play a vital role in controlling crime rate. Previous atte mpts have been made to monitor crime using posture recognition but nothing exclusive to investigating actions of people in large populated area has been cited. [...]

Département Mathématiques Informatique)
In this work we present a novel kernel-based Hough Transform method for robust line detection in poor quality images of 2D lattices of rectangular objects. Following a preprocessing stage that specifies the connected regions of the image, the proposed method uses a kernel to specify each region’s voting strength based on the following shape descriptors: a) its rectangularity, b) the orientation of the major side of its minimum area bounding rectangle (MBR), and c) the MBR’s geometrical center. The Circle of Willis is in the junction of two carotid arteries and two vertebral arteries that supply the brain with nutrition. Junctions where these arteries come together may develop weak spots that can balloon out and fill with blood, creating aneurysms. [...]

In this paper, we propose a partial differential equation based method to segment image objects, which have a given parametric shape based on energy functional. The energy functional is composed of a term that detects object boundaries and a term that constrains the contour to find a shape compatible with the parametric shape. [...]

This paper presents a tracking algorithm for automatic instrument localization in robotically assisted laparoscopic surgery. We present a simple and robust system that doesn’t need the presence of artificial marks, or special colours to distinguish the instruments. [...]
