En el presente artículo proponemos que en la teoría sociológica de Niklas Luhmann es factible reconstruir dos formulaciones diferentes en relación al problema del orden social. Por un lado, una que remite al problema de la demostración de un orden de realidad irreductiblemente social; y por el otro, una formulación más específica y frecuente en la historia del pensamiento sociológico, que refiere a la pregunta por la regulación y el control de la acción.
