14 p, 5.2 MB Late Variscan, Permo-Carboniferous, Al-K plutonism in the South Portuguese Zone : El Crispinejo cordierite-bearing granite / Diéz-Montes, Alejandro (Instituto Geológico y Minero de España) ; Valverde-Vaquero, P. (Instituto Geológico y Minero de España) ; Rey-Moral, C. (Instituto Geológico y Minero de España) ; Sánchez-García, T. (Instituto Geológico y Minero de España)
The El Crispinejo granite forms part of a small, but distinctive late intrusive suite of cordierite-bearing peraluminous granites in the South Portuguese Zone (SPZ). This granite has the best outcrop relationships of the suite. [...]

36 p, 1.6 MB The Chuacús Metamorphic Complex, central Guatemala : geochronological and geochemical constraints on its Paleozoic - Mesozoic evolution / Solari, L. A. (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Centro de Geociencias) ; Gómez-Tuena, A. (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Centro de Geociencias) ; Ortega-Gutiérrez, F. (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Instituto de Geología) ; Ortega-Obregón, C. (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Instituto de Geología)
The Chuacús Metamorphic Complex is located in Central Guatemala, between the Polochic and Motagua fault zones. It is made up of complexly intercalated, mafic and felsic high-grade gneisses, amphibolites, pelitic and quartzofeldsphatic metasediments and subordinate marbles. [...]

32 p, 2.0 MB The Parautochthonous Gondwanan origin of the Cuyania (greater Precordillera) terrane of Argentina : a re-evaluation of evidence used to support an allochthonous Laurentian origin / Finney, S. C. (California State University. Department of Geological Sciences)
A substantial, diverse body of evidence has been interpreted as suggesting that the Cuyania terrane of northwestern Argentina, which includes the Argentine Precordillera, rifted from the Ouachita embayment of Laurentia in the Early Cambrian, drifted across the Iapetus ocean as a microcontinent, and docked with the proto-Andean margin of Gondwana in the Mid to Late Ordovician. 9 p, 1.5 MB U-Pb zircon age of Ordovician magmatism in the Albera Massif (Eastern Pyrenees) / Liesa Torre-Marín, Montserrat (Universitat de Barcelona. Facultat de Geologia) ; Carreras, J. (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Departament de Geologia) ; Castiñeiras, P. (Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Departamento de Petrología y Geoquímica) ; Casas Tuset, Josep Maria (Universitat de Barcelona. Departament de Geodinàmica i Geofísica) ; Navidad, M. (Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Departamento de Petrología y Geoquímica) ; Vilà, M. (Institut Geològic de Catalunya)
New geochronological data from the Albera Massif confirm the presence of an Early - Mid Ordovician igneous event (472 - 465Ma) recorded in the pre-Variscan rocks of the Pyrenees. This event resulted in the emplacement of a large granitic body in the lower part of the pre-Upper Ordovician metasedimentary succession and in the intrusion of a series of metric sized dykes in the middle and upper parts of it.
