The City Council of Barcelona founded in 1886 the Municipal Microbiological Laboratory of Barcelona as an instrument for the control of health and health in the city. Especially important was his fight against rabies, with the introduction of the anti-rabies vaccine by Louis Pasteur. Progressively other tasks related to the inspection of municipal markets of Barcelona were developed, with the functions that veterinarians developed in this sector. After several transformations, in 2002 it became the Public Health Agency of Barcelona. As a result of the functions that it has developed throughout its history, some documents that we have chosen for its digitalization have been preserved, with the agreement of the ASPB and the ACHV-UAB Veterinary Library. Records of rabies vaccination records kept from the period of the late nineteenth century, and a first selection of seizure controls from the City's central markets are collected.
