Bernard Lesfargues is one of the great personalities in present Occitan literature, but his intelectual career exceeds the strictly Occitan field. His work as a translator and editor shows an intelectual personality with a discerning opinion and future perspective. Translator of numerous literary works from Spanish, Catalan and Occitan to French, and translator from Galician and Spanish to Occitan, he develops an intense work of literary creation, and collaboration with numerous French and Occitan literary publications.

In 2006 Bernard Lesfargues signed an agreement with the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona to transfer part of his epistolary and bibliographic collection.
