The field of Translation Technologies is an incipient field in the world of research. The technological advances involved in professional translation are often applied without the necessary reflection on their effect on the process and outcome of the translation or on the field of translator training.

Tradumàtica Group, of the Department of Translation and Interpreting and East Asian Studies, was the first to reflect on these issues. In fact, it gave rise to the neologism tradumática, which has established itself as the name of this field in both Catalan and Spanish. We have become the reference group in this field and, in addition to training activities, we also conduct research activities that can only be carried out within the framework of a recognised research group.
