The Slaughterhouses Digital Memory (SDM) actually have more than 500 pictures taken by the veterinarian Xavier Fàbregas i Comadran. It covers the official veterinarian work period between 1988 and 2012.
Photographs include the following topics: facilities, slaughter, dressing (hygiene, Halal, SRM), ABPs, transport...
The SDM is the result of a digitization project funded by the Catalan Veterinary History Association (ACHV) and Council of Associations of Veterinarians of Catalonia (CCVC) and the UAB. It is an unfinished project conceived as an open work to which it is foreseen the addition of new materials, that will complete or complement the existing ones.

The Veterinary Inspection collection is based on communications presented at conferences and seminars, publications, and photographs of: 1) animals, carcasses, parts of carcasses, and by-products deemed unfit for human consumption, showing the main diseases and animal injuries diagnosed; 2) photographs of animals, carcasses, or suspicious and/or positive materials, presenting the history of the use of growth promoters in intensive livestock farming in Spain, mainly bovine, from 1988 to 1993.

The objective of this collection is to offer all professionals, researchers and students a digital consultation instrument with a comprehensive treatment in some subjects which can be useful for continuing education and teaching.
