The Archive of the Societat del Gran Teatre del Liceu is being digitized through a collaboration between the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and the same society signed in January 2011.

The Archive consists of a large corpus of documents ranging from the founding of the society in 1883, the construction of the Theatre and the open ceremony in 1847, through the fire and the rebuilding in 1861, to the constitution of the Consortium of the Gran Teatre del Liceu in the season of 1981-1982. The documentation ends in 1999.

It preserves administrative documentation (proceedings of the Meetings, the Book of the Concierge), photographs of the period, photographic plates of glass, posters of the performances and dances held, different rebuilding and alteration plans, scenic projects and unique handwritten reports on scenery in Europe.
