The pig slaughter is a traditional feast of ancestral origin in which a domestic sacrificial rite is celebrated. Products from traditional pig slaughter constitute part of the gastronomic cultural heritage of each country.
The objective of this collection is offer students of related degrees, as well the public interested, a consultation instrument for teaching, continuing education and knowledge. Based on communications presented to congresses and conferences, research articles and photos of the slaughter, a protocol is proposed for its study, which includes anthropological, public health and methodological aspects and Catalan traditional pig slaughter is presented, as well as a complete bibliography and other documents.
