Resum:	La hipótesis central del estudio intenta establecer que hay imágenes de cuerpos, las cuales juegan el papel de figurar un cierto ethos retórico tanto en Cicerón como en Descartes. Ambos son autores críticos de la retórica heredada de sus antecesores, que a su vez construyen un nuevo ethos retórico. La primera sección muestra un ethos retórico permeado por imágenes de cuerpos neo-academicistas del tipo mítico-épico que espejan la cultura vital de Cicerón. La segunda a la quinta sección recogen la perspectiva e imágenes de cuerpos neo-renacentistas matemático-geométricos en la obra de Descartes, en ambos casos, las imágenes de cuerpos poseen valor de signo de sus tiempos.
Resum:	The main hypothesis of the study tries to establish that there are images of bodies, which play the role of figuring a certain rhetorical ethos in both Cicero and Descartes. Both are critical authors of the rhetoric inherited from their predecessors, who in turn build their new rhetorical ethos. The first section shows a rhetorical ethos permeated by images of neo-academicist bodies of the mythical-epic type that mirror the vital culture of Cicero. The second to the fifth section includes the perspective and images of neo-Renaissance mathematical-geometric bodies in the work of Descartes, in both cases, the images of bodies have sign value of their times.
