La caricatura en Chile ocupó un lugar importante muy ligado a la política hasta la llegada de la democracia tras el Régimen militar de Augusto Pinochet Ugarte. Durante el periodo de transición, la caricatura pierde la fuerza política que la había caracterizado hasta ese momento asumiendo una tarea más dedicada al humor y la entretención. Nos preguntamos entonces ¿qué caracteriza y cuál es la función social de la caricatura?. |

In Chile, caricature occupied a very important place in relation to politics until the country returned to democracy after the military regime of Augusto Pinochet Ugarte. During the period of transition from dictatorship to democracy, caricature lost the political force it had previously, and began to be used more frequently for humor and entertainment. The question we ask then is, what characterizes caricature and what is its social function?. |
