Maestros de música y maestros generalistas frente a un material interdisciplinar : ¡más sabe el diablo por viejo que por diablo!

Resum:	A causa del proceso de Convergencia Europea de las Enseñanzas Universitarias, se viven tiempos de cambio y reflexión acerca de la formación inicial del profesorado. En este contexto, el artículo indaga acerca de la idiosincrasia del perfil de maestro especialista de música versus al del generalista y su relación con la formación inicial y la experiencia profesional. En este marco, y con la finalidad de realizar una prueba piloto, se seleccionaron cuatro grupos de participantes (maestros de música, maestros generalistas, estudiantes de maestro de la especialidad musical y estudiantes de maestro generalista) que se enfrentaron a una actividad creativa donde se les presentó un material didáctico desconocido para ellos que estimuló sus sentidos y su imaginación. La investigación se centró en analizar y comparar: a) las reacciones, b) las propuestas didácticas para el aula y c) las valoraciones de dichos grupos sobre la aplicación del material en las diferentes áreas del curriculum. Los hallazgos evidenciaron diferencias entre el colectivo de maestras en activo con experiencia y los estudiantes de último curso de magisterio en cuanto a la cantidad y calidad de sus propuestas didácticas, pero fueron muy poco concluyentes respecto a la distinción en el plano especialista-generalista. El artículo termina discutiendo acerca de las consecuencias de dicho estudio en relación con la formación inicial del profesorado.
Resum:	We are living in a time of constant changes and reflecting on the needs of pre-service teacher training. This change is set within the context of the European Higher Education Convergence processes. In this context, we investigated the idiosyncrasy of the music specialist teachers' profile versus that of the generalist teacher, and its relation to both the generalist and the specialist teachers' initial training speciality and their experience once graduated. This paper reports on a pilot study with four groups of participants (in-service music teachers, in-service generalist teachers, preservice music teachers and pre-service generalist teachers) when faced with an open ended creative activity utilising unknown material which encouraged them to use their senses and their imagination. The aim of this research was to analyse and compare a) their reactions, b) their applications within the classroom and c) their evaluations on the relevance of such an activity within the Spanish curriculum. The findings indicat that there was a greater difference between experienced graduated teachers and the less experienced pre-service teachers concerning their ability to apply these activities into a classroom context, but there was little difference in the ability of specialists and generalists to articulate their responses to this challenge. We finally discuss the consequences of this pilot study in relation to the initial teacher training.
