En la pintura mexicana contemporánea, las obras de algunos creadores presentan analogías con estilos de otras épocas que se resignifican en formas y técnicas. Ejemplo de esto es el neomanierismo que desarrolla Luis Argudín a partir de los años noventa del siglo xx. En su propuesta plasma trazos expresivos en una pintura fuertemente alegórica; utiliza colores que provienen de su cotidianidad, añade el escorzo en desnudos y crea un artificio original. Recrea juegos de naturaleza fija, simulada, y citaciones intertextuales de otros autores. En algunas de sus colecciones, la paleta de color del artista se reduce a grisallas para resaltar el simbolismo y la expresividad de figuraciones anacrónicas. |

In contemporary Mexican painting, the works of some creators present analogies with styles from other periods that are resignified in forms and techniques; an example of this is the neomanierism that Luis Argudín develops, from the nineties of the twentieth century to the present. In his proposal, he shapes strokes in a strong expressive and intertextual discourse; he uses colors drawn from everyday life and adds foreshortening in nudes with artificial postures. Argudín recreates compositions of simulated still life and other authors' citations; in some of his collections the artist's color palette is reduced to grisailles to highlight the symbolism and expressiveness of anacronic figurations. |
