Cancer causes approximately 10 million deaths worldwide, making it one of the leading causes of death among the world's population. Within the scientific community, it is widely recognized that cancer stem cells (CSCs) cause the tumor onset, progression, metastasis, and recurrence of cancer. Even though they only compose 0. 01-2% of the cells in the tumor mass, their importance lies in the abnormal stemness property and the altered plasticity they present. |
