Resum: Objectives: This review was conducted by an interdisciplinary team with the aim of producing insights that are relevant to researchers, practitioners, and organizations supporting individuals with Down Syndrome. Methods: A qualitative systematic review was conducted following PRISMA 2020 guidelines. 47 peer-reviewed studies (2014-2024) were selected from four major databases, focusing on implementations of Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems involving individuals with Down Syndrome. Results: Findings show that AI applications targeted mainly the areas of education, communication, emotional regulation, mobility, and employment. Most systems used deep learning or intelligent robots. However, participatory design approaches were not widely adopted, and real-world deployment remained limited. Conclusions: A shift toward more participatory, rights-based approaches is essential to ensure these technologies support autonomy and inclusion.
