Resum:	L'articolo presenta dei possibili collegamenti tra il racconto Hand and Soul di Dante Gabriel Rossetti (1849), uno dei manifesti della pittura preraffaellita pubblicato nel 1850 su The Germ, la rivista del movimento, e l'opera di Gabriele d'Annunzio, attento alla pittura degli inglesi soprattutto negli anni Ottanta e Novanta dell'Ottocento. Diversi gesti ed immagini descritti da Rossetti sembrano aver ispirato d'Annunzio; in particolare le mani sul volto e quelle esili, l'inginocchiarsi e il pianto, il colore verde e il giglio hanno favorito la nascita di motivi che si ripetono in tutta l'opera del poeta, confermando che l'influenza preraffaellita non si esaurisce alla raccolta poetica della Chimera (1890) ma prosegue ben oltre.
Resum:	The article offers a possible connection between Dante Gabriel Rossetti's short story Hand and Soul (1849), probably the manifesto of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood published in 1850 in The Germ, the movement's magazine, and the work of Gabriele d'Annunzio, who was captivated by the artistic movement in the 1880s and 1890s. Several gestures and images described by Rossetti seem to have inspired d'Annunzio; in particular: the hands on the face, the slender hands, the actions of kneeling and weeping, the color green and the lily fostered motifs that are used throughout the poet's opera, confirming that the Pre-Raphaelite influence does not end at the Chimera (1890), as considered so far, but goes far beyond.
