Resum:	The main aim of this paper is to problematize E. Voegelin's reading of Kant's theory of race. While it is true that Kant introduces a strict differentiation between the sensible and the intelligible dimensions of the finite rational being, in his reflections on race he also establishes a dependence between physical and moral traits that, contrary to Voegelin's opinion, makes him a crucial step in the process of 'internalization of the person'. We will also show that Kant's racial hierarchy has significant consequences for both his Political philosophy and Philosophy of history, again in opposition to Voegelin's assumption.
