Resum:	This paper analyzes the role of human emotions-fear, pity, and envy-within the narratives of Greek colonization, particularly through the lens of ancient texts like those of Herodotus and poetic fragments from Archilochus. It explores how these emotions shaped the experiences and motivations behind colonization efforts, reflecting both the anxieties and complexities of establishing new settlements in unfamiliar lands. The author argues that these emotions are vital narrative elements that have recurred in stories over time, influencing the interaction between Greek settlers and indigenous populations.
Resum:	Dieser Beitrag zielt darauf ab, die Rolle dreier menschlicher Gefühle (Angst, Mitleid und Neid) in einigen Geschichten der Kolonisation zu analysieren, wobei drei entscheidende Momente für die Entwicklung einer Kolonialexpedition definiert werden: der Aufbruch in ein unbekanntes Land, die Begegnung mit dessen Bewohnern und die Konfrontation um Ressourcen. Diese Geschichten reproduzieren ein ähnliches Erzählschema mit deutlichen epischen Resonanzen, in dem das Echo der von Homer besungenen Erfahrung des Odysseus zu erahnen ist.
