Descripción y análisis de los hallazgos con tomografía de coherencia óptica en el desprendimiento de la retina rhegmatógeno primario con afectación macular

Resum:	Propósito: evaluar la influencia de la altura macular preoperatoria (AMP) medida mediante Tomografía de Coherencia Óptica (OCT) sobre la agudeza visual (AV) final, en pacientes con Desprendimiento de la Retina Rhegmatógeno (DRR) primario con afectación macular. Los objetivos secundarios son evaluar si otros hallazgos en el OCT preoperatorio o postoperatorio o la técnica quirúrgica utilizada, tienen influencia sobre la AV final. Material y métodos: estudio prospectivo de 53 ojos de 53 pacientes con DRR de menos de 2 semanas de duración y AV preoperatoria inferior a 20/200. Los pacientes fueron intervenidos mediante Cirugía Escleral (CE) o Vitrectomía vía Pars Plana (VPP). La AV fue registrada mediante las tablas del ETDRS por un observador independiente en la visita preoperatoria y a 1,3,6 y 12 meses de la intervención. Posteriormente la AV fue convertida a LogMAR para a efectos de cálculo estadístico. En las mismas visitas, realizamos OCT. Los pacientes fueron divididos en dos grupos en base a la AMP, superior e inferior a 1000 micras ( 20 y 33 pacientes respectivamente). En el OCT preoperatorio se registró la presencia de fluido intrarretiniano y en el OCT postoperatorio de fluido subfoveal persistente subclínico. Utilizamos el Test de la t de Student y el test de Fischer para estudiar la homogeneidad de las variables preoperatorios y el modelo Anova para estudiar la evolución de la visión y realizar el análisis multivariante. Resum:	Purpose: to evaluate the influence of the height of the macular detachment (HMD) as measured with Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) on final visual acuity (VA) in patients with macula-off Rhegmatogenous Retinal Detachment (RRD). The secondary objectives were to evaluate if other pre- or postoperative OCT findings or the surgical technique used, influence final VA. Material and methods: prospective study of 53 eyes of 53 patients with RRD of less than 2 weeks duration and preoperative VA inferior to 20/200. The patients were operated with scleral buckling (SB) surgery or Pars Plana Vitrectomy (PPV). Visual acuity was registered with the ETDRS charts by an independent observer in the preoperative visit and at 1,3,6 and 12 months after surgery. Posteriorly VA was converted to LogMAR for statistical purposes. OCT was done in the same follow-up visit. Patients were divided into two groups according to HMD, superior and inferior to 1000 microns ( 20 and 33 patients respectively).
