Al analizar el relato «Fascinação» del volumen Fascinação seguido de A Dama Pé de Cabra de Hélia Correia, y la novela corta «O físico prodigioso», de Jorge de Sena, se pretende indagar sobre la libertad imaginativa proporcionada por el escenario medieval, para intentar comprender cómo el Medievalismo con características fantásticas permite crear en la ficción contemporánea un efecto de extrañamiento vinculado a la expresión de lo ambiguo, de lo andrógino y de los impulsos libidinales.
Through the analysis of the short story «Fascinação», included in Fascinação seguido de A Dama Pé de Cabra, by Hélia Correia, and the novella «O físico prodigioso», by Jorge de Sena, this article explores the imaginative freedom provided by the medieval setting in order to explain how fantasy Medievalism creates in contemporary fiction a sense of strangeness linked to the expression of the ambiguous, the androgynous and the libidinal impulses.
