This chapter provides an account of Europe's regional diversity in living arrangements. A traditional way to approach the study of family diversity is by using the family as a unit of analysis. Given the nature of our data, we take an 'individual approach' in which we use the individual as a unit of analysis and classify the respondents by their living arrangements. [...]
