The thesis reflects on biographical trajectories and integration processes of Argentinean and Ecuadorian immigrants living in the cities of Barcelona (Spain) and Milano (Italy). Using qualitative methodology, namely biographical in-depth interviews, we purport to answer two questions: 1) How does the economic, cultural and social capital of the interviewees is recognized or not in the context of reception? How does this fact influence their migration trajectories?; 2) what is the impact of the policies that affect Argentinean and Ecuadorian immigrants in the possibility for integration in the host society? The concepts of economic, cultural and social capital, borrowed from the works of Pierre Bourdieu (Bourdieu, 1999; 1999b; 2000, 2002, 2004) are the starting point to analyze migratory processes.
