[...] The five celebrated tapestries traditionally referred to as Dame à Licorne (end of the 15th centurybeginning of the 16th century), housed in the Cluny Museum in Paris, present within their spectacular pattern a single piece of writing which explains their message and the fact that they were commissioned by nobles.
/
Cornudella i Carré, Rafael (Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya)
Alfonso el Magnánimo tuvo en su poder al menos un par de obras suyas, según nos cuentan las fuentes. Esta apreciación particular del gran maestro flamenco se inscribe naturalmente dentro de un fenómeno más general, cual es el de la emulación, por parte de tantas cortes regias o principescas europeas, del modelo de mecenazgo y de los ideales culturales de los reyes y los príncipes de la casa de Valois, incluyendo, por supuesto, la rama de los duques de Borgoña. [...] Already during his lifetime Jan van Eyck was the most celebrated painter in Europe, and King Alfonso the Magnanimous possessed at least a couple of works by the painter, as sources record. This particular appraisal of the great Flemish master is naturally in keeping with a more general phenomenon, the emulation by so many European royal and princely courts of the model of patronage and cultural ideals of the kings and princes of the House of Valois, including the branch of the Dukes of Burgundy. Mària i Serrano, Magda (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya) ;
Minguell i Font, Joan Claudi (Universitat de Vic)
[...] The bishop's palace of Barcelona settles in a vast precinct in the middle of the city, in a site on horseback between the inside and the outside of the primitive roman wall. Even though this emblematic building preserves fragments of ancient architecture inside its walls, it has not been subdued into a detailed analysis until now. [...]

Iconografía de Magdalena de Pazzi : a propósito de Alonso Cano, Valdés Leal y Pedro de Moya
/
[...] This work shows, in the context of the iconography of Magdalena de Pazzi, the link in the works of Alonso Cano, Valdés Leal and Pedro de Moya with the illustration, and above all, the interest shown by all the above to combine the symbolic image of Magdalena -with its close connections to the Passionn- with the «true likeness» of the Florentine saint, not only in oil paintings but also in the paintings designed to complete iconographic programmes in altarpieces. Eudald Pradell : artesà i «home de lletres»
/
[...] With the gradual replacement of the old Gothic letters from the incunable period, and the progressive normalization in the use of Roman characters, the Spanish printers were forced to work almost exclusively with the types produced in the scarce sets of matrices acquired in France or in the Netherlands, or with the types which arrived directly from the main foreign foundries.
