36 p, 7.1 MB The Paleozoic Mount Carlton deposit, Bowen Basin, northeast Australia : Shallow high-sulfidation epithermal Au-Ag-Cu mineralization formed during rifting / Sahlström, Fredrik (James Cook University) ; Dirks, Paul (James Cook University) ; Chang, Zhaoshan (James Cook University) ; Arribas, Antonio (University of Michigan. Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences) ; Corral, Isaac (James Cook University) ; Obiri-Yeboah, Matthew (Evolution Mining. Mt. Carlton Operations) ; Hall, Chris M. (University of Michigan. Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences)
Mount Carlton is a Paleozoic high-sulfidation epithermal deposit located in the northern segment of the Bowen Basin, northeast Queensland, Australia. The deposit is hosted in Early Permian volcanic and sedimentary rocks, and an open-pit mining operation includes the Au-rich V2 pit in the northeast and the Ag-rich A39 pit in the southwest. [...]

17 p, 3.3 MB Trace-metal content of the Cerro Quema Au-Cu deposit (Azuero Peninsula, Panama): implications for exploration / Corral, Isaac (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Departament de Geologia) ; Corbella i Cordomí, Mercè (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Departament de Geologia) ; Gómez-Gras, David (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Departament de Geologia) ; Griera Artigas, Albert (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Departament de Geologia)
Cerro Quema (Azuero Peninsula, Panama) is a high-sulfidation epithermal Au-Cu deposit hosted by a dacite dome complex of the Río Quema Formation (late Campanian to Maastrichtian). High-sulfidation mineralization at Cerro Quema occurs within a lithocap of vuggy quartz and advanced argillic alteration, and comprises a first stage of disseminations and microveinlets of pyrite, chalcopyrite, enargite, tennantite, and minor sphalerite. 42 p, 823.8 KB Evaluations of the quality of the representative channel and unequal participation / Hernández, Enrique (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Departament de Ciència Política i de Dret Públic) ; Ares, Macarena (European University Institute. Department of Political and Social Sciences)
This article analyzes how individual-level assessments of the quality and functioning of the representative channel affect citizens' likelihood to turn out to vote and to engage in alternative forms of non-institutionalized participation, and whether these relationships are moderated by individual resources as measured by education. [...]

21 p, 1.1 MB A general nonconvex multiduality principle / Bonenti, Francesca (Open Capital Partners SGR) ; Martínez Legaz, Juan Enrique (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Departament d'Economia i d'Història Econòmica) ; Riccardi, Rossana (Università degli Studi di Brescia. Dipartimento di Economia e Management)
We introduce a (possibly infinite) collection of mutually dual nonconvex optimization problems, which share a common optimal value, and give a characterization of their global optimal solutions. As immediate consequences of our general multiduality principle, we obtain Toland-Singer duality theorem as well as an analogous result involving generalized perspective functions. [...]

(Trinity College Dublin. School of Chemistry) ; Sanchez, Antoni (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Departament d'Enginyeria Química, Biològica i Ambiental)
The aim of this study is to investigate the possibility of using cerium oxide (CeO₂) nanoparticles (NPs) attached to reduced graphene oxide (rGO) as an alternative adsorbent for cadmium (II), lead (II) and chromium (VI) removal from aqueous solution. [...]

Projections of climate change impacts over the coming decades suggest that rising sea level will flood coastal wetlands. We studied the impacts of three intensities of flooding on litter decomposition in the native Cyperus malaccensis, and the invasives Spartina alterniflora and Phragmites australis in Shanyutan wetland (Minjiang River estuary, China).
