15 p, 3.8 MB Fabrication of one-dimensional organic nanostructures using anodic aluminum oxide templates / Al-Kaysi, Rabih O. (King Saud Bin Abdul-Aziz University for Health Sciences-National Guard Health Affairs) ; Ghaddar, Tarek H. (American University of Beirut. Department of Chemistry) ; Guirado López, Gonzalo (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Departament de Química)
Organic nanostructures are new comers to the fields of nanoscience and nanotechnology. In recent years novel methods for controlling the growth and uniformity of one-dimensional (1D) organic nanostructures (nanowires and nanotubes) have been developing. [...]

12 p, 4.9 MB Fluorescent "turn-Off" detection of fluoride and cyanide ions using zwitterionic spirocyclic meisenheimer compounds / Benet, Marina (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Departament de Química) ; Villabona Pedemonte, Marc (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Departament de Química) ; Llavina, Carles (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Departament de Química) ; Mena, Silvia (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Departament de Química) ; Hernando Campos, Jordi (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Departament de Química) ; Al-Kaysi, Rabih O. (King Abdullah International Medical Research Center. Riyadh (Arabia Saudi)) ; Guirado López, Gonzalo (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Departament de Química)
Stable zwitterionic spirocyclic Meisenheimer compounds were synthesized using a one-step reaction between picric acid and diisopropyl (ZW1) or dicyclohexyl (ZW3) carbodiimide. A solution of these compounds displays intense orange fluorescence upon UV or visible light excitation, which can be quenched or "turned-off" by adding a mole equivalent amount of F⁻ or CN⁻ ions in acetonitrile. 21 p, 167.9 KB Stable Spirocyclic Meisenheimer Complexes / Al-Kaysi, Rabih O. (King Saud Bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences. Department of Basic Sciences) ; Gallardo Garcia, Iluminada (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Departament de Química) ; Guirado López, Gonzalo (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Departament de Química)
Meisenheimer complexes are important intermediates in Nucleophilic Aromatic Substitution Reactions (SNAr). They are formed by the addition of electron rich species to polynitro aromatic compounds or aromatic compounds with strong electron withdrawing groups. [...]
