We report the synthesis of two new three-dimensional coordination polymers (CPs) based on Co(II), adenine, and aromatic tetracarboxylate linkers. Adenine exhibits bidentate binding modes in both CPs, coordinating through the N<inf>3</inf> and N<inf>9</inf> sites in a first compact CP and through the more rare N<inf>3</inf> and N<inf>7</inf> sites in a second open, flexible, and H<inf>2</inf>O-responsive CP. We have prepared three distinct polyamino acid-based metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with different chiralities and porosities using the same chemistry, by simply modifying the enantiomeric ratio of the chiral organic ligand used.
