En aquest article discutim breument el rerefons i les explicacions astronòmiques i climàti-ques que han portat històricament al desenvolupament d'algunes de les festivitats, i seguidament analitzem algunes de les característiques etnobotàniques d'algunes d'aquestes festes al migjorn del País Valencià.
In this paper we discuss briefly the background and explanations of astronomical and climate that historically led to the development of some of the festivities, and then we anal-yze some of the ethnobotanical features of some of those festivities from the south of Valencia.
