Between 1626 and 1632 the painter Vicente Carducho works on fifty six pictures of a Carthusian iconography for the Paular convent in Madrid. On this article I analize the intelectual work made by the mentor, the prior Juan de Baeza overall, who as well as presenting him an initial document, he cooperated with some illustrations taken from different books and he also prescribed lately notes.
