This project covers the areas of direct translation (EN-ES), specialised vocabulary (business and finance), professional subtitling and fansubbing. The purpose of this research project is to reflect on the different stages of the translation process in order to achieve professional results: analysing the source text, defining the target reader and purpose of the target text, obtaining a valid document to work with (transcription), deciding on criteria to deal with the translation problems, translating the complete text without any medium constraints, classifying the problems encountered and justifying our solutions, deciding on criteria to deal with the subtitling problems, adapting the translation to subtitling requirements, classifying the problems encountered and justifying our solutions, and evaluating the final result by comparing it with another subtitling proposal.
