This case-control study assesses the anatomical and physiological underpinnings of visual artistic creativity in individuals with frontotemporal dementia. What are the neural underpinnings of visual artistic creativity (VAC) in the setting of frontotemporal dementia (FTD)? Los trabajos incluidos en esta tesis van sobre el tema de la correlación clínico patológica en la enfermedad neurodegenerativa y más específicamente en la afasia primaria progresiva (APP). En el primer trabajo analizamos la proporción de positividad PET-amiloide en cada variante clínica para probar la hipótesis que clasificación según los criterios diagnósticos actuales (establecidos por consenso en 2011) de afasia primaria progresiva resultaría en grupos patológicamente homogéneos. The studies included in this thesis addressed the issue of clinicopathologic correlation in neurodegenerative disease and more specifically in primary progressive aphasia (PPA). In the first study we analyzed rates of amyloid PET positivity to test the hypothesis that classification according to the recently established consensus PPA variant diagnostic criteria would result in groups with largely homogeneous amyloid biomarker profiles.
