The objective of the present study was to determine the physiological role of voltage-gated hydrogen channels 1 (HVCN1 channels) during in vitro capacitation of pig spermatozoa. This work analyzes the effects of red LED light on mammalian sperm mitochondrial function, using the pig as an animal model.
