20 p, 7.4 MB Discriminating between medium-sized tridactyl trackmakers : tracking ornithopod tracks in the base of the Cretaceous (Berriasian, Spain) / Castanera, D. (Universidad de Zaragoza. Grupo Aragosaurus-IUCA) ; Pascual, C. (Soria) ; Razzolini, Novella L. (Institut Català de Paleontologia Miquel Crusafont) ; Vila Ginestí, Bernat (Universidad de Zaragoza. Grupo Aragosaurus-IUCA) ; Barco, José L. (Paleoymás) ; Canudo, José I. (Universidad de Zaragoza. Grupo Aragosaurus-IUCA)
Background: Recent work on the Jurassic-Cretaceous transition of the Iberian Range (Spain) has opened a new window onto the interpretation of the trackmakers of some medium-sized tridactyl tracks. The ichnotaxon Therangospodus oncalensis has been described in the Huérteles Formation (Berriasian) and is one of the classical tracks from the area assigned to medium-sized theropods. [...]

Background: The Las Cerradicas site (Tithonian–Berriasian), Teruel, Spain, preserves at least seventeen dinosaur trackways, some of them formerly attributed to quadrupedal ornithopods, sauropods and theropods. [...]

Section d'archéologie et Paléontologie (Switzerland)) ; Cattin, Marielle (Office de la Culture. Section d'archéologie et Paléontologie (Switzerland)) ; Meyer, Christian A. (Naturhistorisches Museum Basel (Switzerland))
A new ichnospecies of a large theropod dinosaur, Megalosauripus transjuranicus, is described from the Reuchenette Formation (Early–Late Kimmeridgian, Late Jurassic) of NW Switzerland. It is based on very well-preserved and morphologically-distinct tracks (impressions) and several trackways, including different preservational types from different tracksites and horizons. [...]

Vertebrate fossil tracks have been studied through 3D modelling techniques during the last two decades to improve tracking procedures. Different laser scanners and software have been used during field investigation and this differentiation caused incompatibility between many analysis programs. [...]

204 p, 11.0 MB Morphological variation and ichnotaxonomy of dinosaur tracks : linking footprint shapes to substrate and trackmaker's anatomy and locomotion / Razzolini, Novella, autor ; Galobart Lorente, Àngel, supervisor acadèmic ; Vila Ginestí, Bernat, supervisor acadèmic ; Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
The study of tridactyl dinosaurs tracks from a morphological perspective is here presented in the form of a new look and approach to the classic ichnology. The mechanisms that mostly control and affect track morphology during its formation have been thoroughly analysed, so that the ultimate goal is to provide extensive quantitative data to discuss the main foundation of morphological variation registered in individual tracks, trackways and large sets of trackways. [...]
