In this work I analyse female participation in the Uruguayan National Liberation Movement-Tupamaros (MLN-T) and its features from a feminist perspective, asking about what it symbolically meant for women to take over the armed struggle in a patriarchal gender system, in order to further analyse part of the of former militants' published testimonies about their experience as women in the guerrilla movements.
