[...] In teaching French as a first or a foreign language, the specific forms and rules of spoken French are often seen as a factor of trouble, because they challengea great number of rules and norms of written French. Diáspora y comunidades asiáticas en España
/
[...] The Asian people in Spain are not very well-known in spite of their long historical settlement and their at present sizeable population. The concept of diaspora is referred to a specific migration pattern, one of its characteristics is the no asimilation to the host society. [...]

The mechanisms of plant trait adaptation and acclimation are still poorly understood and, consequently, lack a consistent representation in terrestrial biosphere models (TBMs). Despite the increasing availability of geo-referenced trait observations, current databases are still insufficient to cover all vegetation types and environmental conditions. [...]

Linguistic integration of the descendants of foreign immigrants in Catalonia

Parella Rubio, Sònia (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona)
This article analyzes the linguistic integration of the second generation of immigrants in Catalonia on the basis of the theory of segmented assimilation. The main objectives are to discover which factors help to determine the preference for the Catalan language (to the detriment of Spanish and the languages of origin) and the acquisition of written skills in Catalan among these young people.
In this article the author presents some ideas about the articulatory and perceptual mechanisms that may be involved in some major phonetic changes of the Romance languages, such as the evolution of Latino groups MB, ND and MN or the voicing of intervocalic voiceless stops comparing these ideas with those submitted by other Romance linguists in the past.

The importance of organic nitrogen (N) for plant nutrition and productivity is increasingly being recognized. Here we show that it is not only the availability in the soil that matters, but also the effects on plant growth. [...]
