/
Cao, Xuanzi ;
Franquesa, Montserrat (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Departament de Traducció i d'Interpretació i d'Estudis de l'Àsia Oriental)
[...] The expansion of Buddhism from India to the East took place during the Han and mainly Jin dynasties thanks, mainly, to the labor translator of Kumārajiva. His versions from originals in Sanskrit into Chinese, more understandable that those existing at that time, received the help from the ruling power, aiding him in his goal to develop a translation school.
/
Gaztelu, Teresa (Universidad Pontificia Comillas)
[...] This work proposes a new consideration of suttapiṭaka Buddhism. It is well known that primitive Buddhism offers solid metaphysical, anthropological, epistemological, ethical and psychological foundations from an experiential perspective that combines, in the same movement, theory and practice.
[...] Schopenhauer is recognised as the first European philosopher to view the East as a well of wisdom. Although his views may be distorted, they are nonetheless fruitful. He opened the doors of Western ideas to India and China, Hinduism and Buddhism. [...]

Budismo zen, psicoanálisis y filosofía. Un encuentro desde la ética
/
[...] The working hypothesis here is that the relationship that has been historically established among Zen Buddhism, psychoanalysis and philosophy has failed because it is formulated in terms of comparing fully heterogeneous discourses. [...] The paper presents what are the key differences between Eastern and Western philosophy, with particular emphasis on the experiential character of the first, which is what makes the Eastern thought to be particularly fruitful in philosophically analyzing cognitive sciences. The Eastern Construction of the Artificial Mind
/
Vallverdú, Jordi, 1973- (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Departament de Filosofia)
In this paper we will analyse the possible similarities and differences between scientists dealing with AI and robotics from the West and those from the East. Another question that arises is: is there such a thing as an AI & robotics paradigm specific to Eastern research? Through the analysis of cultural, philosophical and technical aspects, this research will show that there is no real Eastern model of the artificial mind, although their background ideas have influenced world-wide research in the field deeply.

[...] The word «postmodernity» has made a name in the everyday and specialized vocabulary. We understand as the new thinking that emerges from the critique of modernity. This transformation, which has been occurring since the second half of the twentieth century, undermines the main myth of the modern world, the possibility of knowing the objective and stable truth.
